About Fraternity & Sorority Life at UNC Asheville

The UNC Asheville Fraternity & Sorority Community promotes the personal, social, intellectual, and ethical development of all chapter members. Fraternity & Sorority Chapters at UNC Asheville are affiliated groups of their (inter)national organizations. The advancement of our Community at UNC Asheville is an ongoing effort to keep the Fraternity & Sorority Experience relevant to student success and an integral part of the fabric of campus life.

At UNC Asheville, our Fraternity & Sorority Community works to

  • Provide education and experience in interpersonal relationships, leadership, group dynamics, and organization development
  • Promote member involvement in co-curricular activities
  • Promote sponsorship of and participation in community service, service learning, and philanthropic projects
  • Promote an appreciation for differences and development of cross-cultural competencies
  • Recognize and encouraging learning experiences that occur as a result of a diverse fraternity and sorority community
  • Advocate for academic success of all members and for opportunities through which students can integrate in-class and out-of-class learning
  • Support members' efforts to align actions with espoused organizational mission and values
